Accounting Supervisor For over 50 years, Kal Tire has expanded steadily from its humble roots in Vernon, BC to become Canadas largest independent tire dealer with over 240 Kal Tire outlets across Canada, 12 retread facilities, 2 OTR plants and 4 warehouses. We currently operate in over a 120 customer sites with 35 in Canada, and all others in over 19 countries across 5 continents.We are seeking a highly motivated accounting professional to supervise our Accounting Department at the Vernon Office. This role is suited to a proven Senior Accountant looking to use this position as a springboard to advance to more senior roles within the finance team at Kal Tire in the near future.Reporting to the Controller, Canadian Operations, key components of the role include:- Oversight of all aspects of the month and year end reporting cycles. This comprises the coordination of activities both within the accounting team and other departments.- Accurate/timely reporting and analysis for all Kal Tire locations.- Detailed reviews of month end reports prior to distribution.- Maintain general ledger master files (accounts, departments, products, projects, tree structure).- Calculate profit share bonuses.- Compile and/or review corporate and commodity tax filings and remittances.- Continuously improve business systems and processes.- Develop accounting team members through regular and ongoing supervision, coaching and mentoring.The successful candidate holds an accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA), with a minimum of 6-10 years of progressive accounting experience preferably in a fast paced, large company.
